Description:
The Dorrough Model 1800 CATV Audio Loudness/Video Level Test Set is an easy-to-use instrument, specially designed for quick, dynamic comparisons of video and audio levels from a wide variety NTSC sources. Using two 40-segment, LED displays, the Model 1800 simultaneously displays sync-level, average-luminance, peak-luminance, audio loudness and peak modulation. A built-in "all-channel" demodulator allows direct connection to RF sources. This feature facilitates such applications as equalization of cable television feeds. Demodulated video and audio outputs are provided for direct connection to monitors or other instrumentation. The Video Luminance Meter displays, from left to right on the LED "arc" readout: sync, average-luminance, and peaks. Metering-range is from 0-12O IRE. Separate bi-color "Sync" and "Setup" LEDs provide instant "Stop/GO" verification of signal integrity.
The rack-mount Model 1800 fills the gap between conventional luminance-meters and waveform monitors, providing "qualitative" in addition to quantitative information. The Dorrough Test Set Model 1800 is an invaluable aid for optimum adjustment of video/audio levels for highest program consistency providing comprehensive "Sight and Sound" quality assurance. |
