Part Number: STARMU
Description:

The "SUB-ALERT" STARMU is a multi-function Processor/ Controller specifically designed to accept EAS data and EAS baseband audio directly from the SAGE "ENDEC". As a result, incoming alerts that have been pre-selected for retransmission in the ENDEC can be passed to the STARMU. Once delivered, the STARMU processes the information and delivers Digital EAS data, via the TCP/IP protocol over an Ethernet connection, to either a Scientific Atlanta or Pioneer Digital Application Server for communicating EAS alerts to digital set-top terminals.

In addition, whenever the STARMU is installed in combination with either a EAS/STAR-8S crawl system it can also be used for a variety of multi-channel messaging requirements, including EAS, PPV Overlays, Cross-Channel Promotions and Syndex announcements.

Standard with every STARMU is the PCS Control Center Windows software, internal modem and PC Anywhere that allows any authorized user to individually access, edit and control local messages on each channel from a local keyboard or a remote PC.

The STARMU is not required for EAS-only applications with EAS/STAR-8S systems, nor for Motorola’s Digital EAS Interface.

Telephone access and control of up to 99 stored messages! When the STARMU is deployed in combination with an EAS/STAR-8S system, operators and local franchise authorities will be able to initiate stored video crawl messages via DTMF codes and interrupt program audio with telephone override.
