The Force, Incorporated CATVLinx® Model 2904 110 Channel VSB/AM Transmitter provides a robust system for transferring up to 110 channels of VSB/AM modulated signals over a single-mode optical fiber using 1550 nm optics. Excellent for long-haul applications, the Model 2904 transmitter can work with the Force, Inc. Models 6901 and 6902 Erbium-doped Fiber Amplifiers. This allows the link to perform at greater distances without system degradation. The transmitter uses a high-power, externally modulated 1550 nm laser diode that offers dual optical outputs with output powers of +6.0 dBm and +5.0 dBm typical and low optical linewidth. This provides for a high carrier-to-noise ratio, when coupled with one or more EDFAs, over more than 50 km of fiber. The 2904 transmitter is compatible with Models 2807 or 2808 receivers. These receivers provide additional link monitoring devices such as a built-in power meter and adjustable optical attenuator. The Model 2904 provides exceptional performance for many demanding applications such as broadband LANs, distance learning, and multiple data services. |
