Description:

TANDBERG Television’s iPlex video headend is a high-density, multi-functional, highperformance IPTV headend platform. It was designed for the unique requirements of telco operators and other providers interested in augmenting their delivery infrastructures with an IPTV platform. Its compact, 1 RU form factor with up to 8 encoded or 64 transrated streams makes it ideal for small- to medium-sized headend deployments, real-estate constrained environments, and for the expansion of existing video headend service offerings.

The iPlex video headend supports MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC SD, HD or PiP channels with industry-leading picture quality. The iPlex video headend is a modular system that allows service providers to upgrade functionality and add new services to its channel line-up without costly upgrades to the access infrastructure. The iPlex video headend is ideally-suited for hybrid and mixed networks, featuring multiple network interfaces in compliance with ANSI and ETSI standards. It can be deployed in a mix of Ethernet, ATM, PON or FTTN environments.

The iPlex video headend offers service providers the most advanced video and audio compression technology available today and is part of TANDBERG Television’s Plex family of products including the Mediaplex-20™ and iPlex video headends.

While the iPlex can be deployed as a stand-alone unit, it can also be deployed as part of a comprehensive end-to-end solution, in order to reap maximum competitive advantage. The iPlex can be deployed in combination with the Mediaplex-20™ video headend, the zBand™ content delivery platform, TANDBERG’s AdPoint® on-demand advertising platform, OpenStream®, Xport®, and Mediapoint®.
