Description:

The CP 7600 multichannel integrated decoder (MID) from Terayon is the world’s first professional-grade multichannel decoder to be integrated within a single one rack unit chassis. Its compact, low-profile design makes it the perfect edge device for decoding digitally distributed content at the hub.

This versatile performer decodes up to six standard definition MPEG-2 video services to baseband, each with dual balanced stereo audio. For architectures requiring decoding of more than six services, several CP 7600APs can be cascaded together, each decoding different channels from the same ASI source. In a Gigabit Ethernet environment, the source content can be distributed to multiple CP 7600Gs using an external Gigabit Ethernet switch. The easy-to-use graphical user interface makes configuration straight forward and intuitive.

In applications where edge decoding to analog is not required, the CP 7600 can be used to decode services for quality monitoring via a standard analog video monitor prior to downstream distribution. This ability to monitor quality allows for feed or switching errors to be detected sooner, resulting in less downtime and increased customer satisfaction.
